WILLIAMSBURG — The 18-piece Ford’s Colony Dance Band will perform its first “Jazz Legends Showcase” on Thursday, April 25, at the Williamsburg Regional Library Theatre as part of WRL’s Dewey Decibel Concert Series.
The Ford’s Colony Dance Band is a big band sponsored by the Ford’s Colony Homeowners Association.
The band will pay tribute to some of the great artists of the jazz era, with music by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Chick Corea, Louis Armstrong, Maynard Ferguson, John Coltrane and more.
From ragtime to bebop and from New Orleans to Chicago, the songlist includes “At Last,” “What a Wonderful World,” “Walking My Baby Back Home,” “Fly Me to the Moon,” “Basie Straight Ahead” and 13 more.
The concert will take place from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the Williamsburg Regional Library Theater at 515 Scotland St. Admission is free, but donations are accepted.
